In the words of Joe Shooster, proprietor of the Only Inn (Glipwood’s only inn), “Be sure and sign the guestbook before you leave. Should you accidentally leave your underwear (Maker forbid!), Addie and I will know where to send it. Travel in Skree these days is dangerous and slow, so it may take the courier several months (or years) to find you. We recommend purchasing a new pair of undies.”

Bronze: Joe and Addie got thrown in the Black Carriage in North! Or Be Eaten. I doubt they’ll return, but with Andrew Peterson writing the series, you never know.
I can’t wait for the release of The Warden and the Wolf King! Have been waiting since I finished Monster in the Hollows over a year ago, and I know the time is getting closer, so I’ll be as patient as I can be. Love your books, and I only wish that the series didn’t have to end with the next one.
I just figured out today that I’ve read these books so many times that I can actually recite all of “The Carriage Comes, the Carriage Black” from the first chapter of “On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness.”
I really love your books! They r awesome, and my dad and I like 2 c how it relates 2 the bible. Just loooooooove those books!
Thought I’d share an excerpt from an e-mail I received from a friend to whom we lent you books:
“Also, THANK YOU for lending us the Andrew Peterson books. Matt and I stayed up till 1 am to finish the second book, and the third book, we stayed up till 1:30am. At the end of book three, I was practically sobbing in bed, as we finished it. It was beautifully written. I felt like my heart would burst, it was so full. I really appreciated his website and the author’s note to parents regarding his writing style and the tone in his books. Its not too often that an author is so upfront. I am ready to return them to you (and buy the whole set once the fourth book comes out).”
Andrew I loooooooooooooooove your books! I sent you a picture of the gargan rockroach, please post it.
I love your books so much! I can’t wait for The Warden and the Wolf King! I am also a fan of your music.
I love your books so much it’s kind of freakish. I think about them constantly, and I read sections of them everyday.
(I’ve read them all the way through about fifteen times) I am pretty sure that if someone got me started I could quote large passages of it. The characters are so real to me that sometimes I feel like Artham is yelling in my ear, or Janner is sleeping in the next room and I need to be quiet so he can heal. Yes, like many others, Artham is my favorite. I want to be just like you when I grow up.
Thanks. From the homeschooled junior high who eats up books in three hours.
I absolutely LOVE your books i can’t wait for the next one.
Mr. peterson,
Thank you for your work. I just finished the Monster in the Hollows and it’s been a blast! Words cannot describe what a well written story can do to a reader (at least i don’t have the words for it). But your story took me on a wonderful journey that i can’t wait to continue with The warden and the Wolf king. …so hurry!
God bless
Thomas
I adore your books SOOO much! I have been in agony waiting for the fourth one since the beginning of this year (2012). I can’t WAIT to find out what happens!
P.S I have shared this series with three pf my best friends. They agree with everyhting I just stated!
I love your books, Mr. Peterson! I read them after an online friend of mine told me how good they are, and I was hooked after the first chapter! You had me laughing out loud many, many times, and I don’t think I’ll ever forget the characters, or Torrborro and its kitten-loving rulers, or the Green Hollows, or anything! I can’t wait for the fourth!
Every book i’ve read has been okay like harry potter. percy jackson, redwall, one hundred cupboards and none of them r like these books!!! they r AMAZING!!!! every chapter leaves u on a cliff hanger wanting to read more… and at the end of every book there is a HUGE cliff hanger wanting u to read the next one!!!! be4 i didnt have the second and third only the first and i finished it and we went out to get the other two and we went to 3 book stores and NONE of them had the books it was CRAZY!!! thts how good they r!!!! <3

Read every single one. Awesome with a capital A-W-E-S-O-M-E. When is the fourth book?
I’ll start by saying that the Wingfeather Saga books are amazing! I’ve read a lot of books but this , if not the very top, it comes very close. I have loved books like Redwall, Harry Potter, Inheritance Cycle, Rangers Apprentice, and the Dragon Keeper books but I feel these top them all! Your books have a humor that is totally unique, the kids still feel like kids not adults playing at being kids, the story is griping and won’ let me go!
I’m amazed at your ability to keep hope alive for the charters. The books are not just fluff, they show a very real and very scary evil but there is something greater and more wonderful than the evil. That the power of the evil is a perversion of what was good and that good is stronger than the bad. I understand/relate to Janner and his struggle to do whats right vs. what he wants. In the midst of this seriousness there parts are that have me rolling on the ground laughing! I miss the footnotes! I still remember the story of Tombilly and Ma Vorba and I still laugh when read the footnotes (I just finished rereading the books). I realized while rereading the series that at the end of The Monster in the Hollows I missed entire paragraphs I was reading so quickly. Such great plot twists! There were many twists and turns I never saw coming. So much happened in those last couple of chapters! I was laughing with joy one moment, crying the next and it all ended with joy and hope of things to come. Can’t wait for the next book!
I’m 29-I read the first two books a year ago and gave them as a parting gift to my boss’s daughter who I knew loved to read. She is constantly telling me how much she loves the books! Well, my husband knew how sad I was that I gave up my beloved books and he went out and got all 3 of them for me out of the blue. I literally danced and hopped with joy all over the house that day! Currently I’m working on my master’s degree and let’s just say that a new rule was enacted in our house: “Andrea can’t read Wingfeather books while in school”. I just could NOT put them down. I read book 2 again and somehow it felt more real and amazing than I remember it being the first time around. My husband probably heard me crying, laughing and shouting when I read those books! He’s about to start on the first one now. I told him that I can’t wait until he’s done reading all 3 of them so he can be as miserable as me while I wait for the 4th.
Andrew you are a great writer and God has blessed you. Keep up the great work!!
P.S It would be nice to see more illustrations posted. I want to see so much, like for example what does Tink look like now? Does Janner’s scars make him look super battle weary? What does Artham look like now that he’s more majestic? AHHH PLEASE POST PICTURES!!!!
My grand-daughter and I have SO enjoyed your books! Can’t wait for your fourth!!! We really appreciate your website and the additional photos and info. Such fun! GOD bless you and your family.
My family and I love your music, and I was psyched when I found out you wrote Fantasy novels too!! I’ve read all three, and have (finally) got my siblings reading them too!! Can’t wait for the new one, and really hope you don’t kill Artham off. That would make me bawl like a baby. He’s the best. : ) Of course, I know I’ll cry anyway, it’s inevitable.
Mr. Peterson,
My children and I are thoroughly enjoying your books. The stories you tell come to life as we read along. Your magically descriptive phrases create a mini movie in our minds as we travel along on your adventures. We are eager to bring them with us on our own journeys, but were saddened to learn that not all of the books in The Wingfeather Saga are available in audio book format. These stories are perfectly framed to carry you along and deliver you to your destination at a seemingly faster pace. Thank you for sharing your world with us, and we look forward to finishing this adventure with you, perhaps even as we travel.
Sincerely,
The Michener Family
I have been a huge fan of yours since Carried Along, and you are a tremendous writer and musican. Powerful deep lyrics, in a world where solid song writing has been all but forgotten, or maybe worse, forsaken.
As much as I hate to say it, I love your books , just a little more than I love your music. Just a thought, take your time on the next book. I’m reading monster now, and it is wonderful, it seems a little rushed though. The characters and scenes don’t seem quite as developed as the first two were. I completely forgot I was reading a book, you made everything so real.
As much I would love to see the next book tomorrow, it’s worth the wait. Thank you for blessing me by using your talent both in music and in writing. (Even though I like the books better, if I HAD to choose one and never know the other, I’d definetly choose your music, hands down)
Blessings
Dear Mr. Peterson,
I loooove your books! Can you please write something interesting abou Leeli in the fourth book?
Miriam
I just finished reading the second book to my two children (9 and 6). The nine year old was so drawn into the story that she read the last five chapters on her own ahead of me! She was so guilty about reading ahead that she wrote me an apology note. The note concluded with “I swear by the holes and the hallows I will never read ahead again”. What a gift to have such captivating stories to read to our children.
I got your third book and can’wait for the fourth one! but what does a rockroach look like
and what does the lone fendril look like? and why no more footnotes?
I recommended these books to my piano teacher and she loved them. She’s suggested them to about 5 more people!
Hi. I am 10 years old. And I love your books. I am on chapter 54 of North! Or be Eaten and it’s getting really good. I was looking on this website and saw that there wasn’t a picture of a rocroach:] Could you put one up? Thanks! – Charlie
Hi Andrew,
I was blessed to see you on the songs and stories tour with Steven and Josh in Naperville, IL. What a fun and encouraging night!!! I have since been reading your Wingfeather saga books (I am in the middle of number two) and I love them! I am a 45 year old mom btw, and I will heartily recommend them, along with your music, to everyone I know. Keep them coming! God bless and thanks for sharing your gifts with us.

Warden and the Wolf King predictions:
The Likely~
1) Leeli will do something awesome.
2) The Jewels visit the secret chamber with the seeing stones.
3) Artham dies (sorry, it just makes too much sense).
4) We learn the histories of Bonifer Squoon and the Stone Keeper.
5) Gnag loses.
6) Janner + Sara (probably in the inevitable “10 years later” segment at the end).
7) Janner goes sailing on his own.
8) Abounding references to the great authors of Annierian history.
9) I will be brought to tears at some point. Okay, probably many points.
The Maybe~
1) A visit to Ridgerunner territory.
2) A visit to the Blackwood.
3) The return of Armulyn the Bard (where’s he been, anyway?)
4) Another transformation (I doubt Kalmar will become human again, but maybe a further transformation similar to Artham. Or maybe the stones can be used to rebuild the wrecked kingdom of Anniera).
5) The sea dragons somehow help out the Jewels.
6) Kalmar + Maraly (probably in the inevitable “10 years later” segment at the end).
The Questionable~
1) The return of footnotes (what’s the deal with ditching them in MITH?)
2) We learn who Eric is (his house is on the map of Ban Rona- who is this guy?)
Thanks for these books! These are the first I’ve ever read twice in a row- I’ve always felt there is too much to read to do that, but I wanted to relive every moment again.
Dear Mr. Peterson ,
I have an idea…. Would it be weird to have sort of a pre-quel to On the Edge about the Igibys’ father and his rule over Anneria? Would that be cool, or would it ruin your saga…? Please reply. Your books are awesome
Respect, sincerity, and the Grace of the Heavely Father,
Abigail
So I bought the trilogy for my 11 year old who HATED reading. I mean HATED it. Fast forward 6 months later and my boy has read more “chapter books” since last Fall than in his first 11 years combined…because he LOVES the Wingfeather series. Thank you thank you THANK you from the bottom of my homeschooling mama heart for making my job pure joy! To see him fall asleep with a good book on his face…I can’t even put into word what a blessing that is.
Mr. Peterson, I love your work so much, that I decided to write my own book. By the way, I think you are a great singer, and I just think that you should know, you are an amazing person. I just love your work. I am also writing a movie with my neighbore, Zoe, she got me into your books and songs, anyway, the movie will be called “squirrle wars,” because it’s about 15 12 year old kids, who like squirrles. The group I’m working with is the red suirrle gruop. Zoe’s got the grays. We are trying to raise awairness of the fack that red squirrles are being kicked out of their homes by the gray squirrles. it’s all in a certain issue of “Ranger Rick,” which I know your son, Aedan, reads because I’ve seen his blog. By the way, I’m 10 Years old, almost 11, on April, 20. Once again, I love your work. PLEASE KEEP WRITEING YOUR BOOKS! PLEASE!
I have 3 favorite worlds(besides the one I live on, but I don’t like that one as much, plus most of the time I’m off in another world, in my imagination): Narnia, Middle Earth, and Aerwiar. Keep writing and, for goodness sake, hurry up and write The Warden and the Wolf King!
Dear Andrew Peterson,
What happens to Joe and Addie Shooster? Are they okay? Did they get FANGED!? Are they going to be in the next book? Please please please! <3 <3 <3
Dear Andrew Peterson,
My name is Tate,my age is 9< & my parents' names are Jana & Troy Beaber.I
LOVE your books
& I love the Sea Dragons.(Could you send me a picture of one? Please?)I have finished the first two books & really liked them.
Tate. I .Beaber
P.S.thank's for North!Or Be Eaten…
Thank you so much for your work! Our family has been greatly enjoying and we almost wept when we discovered that the forth is long in coming. If the first three weren’t so good we would never forgive you for taking so long, but as it is, we are anticipating the next book. But after waiting for so long, you had better not disappoint us!
-The Jacksons
Your books are HORIBBLE!!! But unfortunatly we’re adicted to them. We love them with all our hearts and cannot live without them(last part exagerated) we’ve been reading your books as a family, and also, our night’s end in NOOOO!!! We are 4 children and Sophia(youngest) was once very frightend at the prospect of the cloven ‘finding them and holding them fast’ that she didn’t want to sleep. But that was not what made it horrible, it was that no hope shon through in the dark part of the book. (But please don’t write any differantly!) CAN-NOT-WAIT till your next book comes out! (Make eBook eddition a bit faster please, since we’re reading eBook) Marike & Franci
Dear Mr. Peterson,
I think that you should answer comments more often.
Love,
Grace
Thanks so much for the books and the inspiration Andrew. Read Book 1 with my son last year as we sojourn in Istanbul, Turkey. Looking forward to 2 and now 3. Thanks.
I listened to “Dark Sea” almost all the way through on an annual trip from CO to WI last year. Was wondering (and hoping) if the other two(or three) will make it to audio. If so where do I get them?
Thanks,
DS
I would love to see a user submitted gallery on this site. Your descriptions of the characters are so vivid. So many images pop into my head that I have to illustrate them. I would love to be able to share them.
Bronze! Ruler be with you(any new drawings?! I completely agree with you, I don’t know how he does all that either. I have trouble remembering to post my blog, let alone writing a book series!
from my world to yours,
Piper
PLEASE tell me that Book 4 will be coming soon! Not just for my son……I’M the one who’s reading these!
Yes, at age 51, and I think they are fantastic! OK, my ten-year-old is on book one and he loves it, too. But of course, we have to find out what happens next! Is there a publication date for BOok 4?
How you manage to do so many things at once; write your books, draw your pictures, keep in touch with your fans, make your amazing songs, and keep up with posts on your website and twitter is beyond me. I hope one day I can be a great author like you. Your stories inspire my thoughts, and give voice to my dreams. They bring me closer to the Maker of heaven and Earth. I spend nights up late reading in bed because I can’t put my book down. Every chapter has a new surprise, one that shocks me, fills me with joy, excites me, saddens me, or leaves me on the edge of my seat. The characters are so real; I love each and every one in their own way. I like to make up tunes for the songs and sing them all the time. The sights, sounds, smells, and feelings are so real in your descriptions; I sometimes forget I’m not one of the Wingfeathers off in Aerwiar. Thank God for Andrew Peterson!
We’re in day two of CSFF’s The Monster In The Hollows blog tour, and it’s a delight to read what the different participants are saying. The bottom line? This book and series is a big hit!
Becky
So my 9yo son & I were sort of fighting over The Monster over the past few days. He finished it about 8 hours before I did, then we looked at each other & said simultaneously “I can’t wait til Book 4!!” We have recommended the Saga to so many people. My 9yo is so much like Janner, my 8yo son like Kalmar, and my 5yo daughter like Leeli. Really, it’s uncanny how similar – I think it is helping my oldest understand and have more patience with his brother. And now I’m glad my 3yo son will have a title when they begin acting out the story.
Keep writing! We’ve enjoyed (loved/been blessed by) your songs from the first time we heard you in concert 10ish years ago. May the Lord continue to bless you, your family, and your work. (love your son’s artwork!)
I just devoured The Monster in the Hollows, and I LOVED it! I just wanted to let you know that you did not disappoint with this one (you never do). I also wanted to tell you how much we all appreciate the time, energy, and love that you put into creating your books. Your books make so many of us very, very happy!
P.S. How long do we have to wait for Book 4? Hopefully not too long
Speaking of progress, I heard a rumor that the audiobook for North or Be Eaten is coming out soon. Is there a date? I want to camp out in front of my computer for the download.
I think I am the female version of Janner: I love to read(I read the third one in less than three hours), I love to write(I’m in the middle of writing five books), I’m the oldest(sadly, I have the same bed time as a six year old), I have two younger siblings(although, as far as I know, neither of them is High Queen of a faraway country) (both girls). I love Sara and Janner, but Tink/Kalmar is cool too.
Signed,
Grace
We got our Monster in the Hollows a couple of weeks ago (although our 8 year old doesn’t know it!!). It was immediately hidden away and will make a triumphal entry when we camp in Yosemite in June. We read it aloud, together, around the fire as a ‘family book’ and enjoy every moment. The end of the night’s reading is always punctuated by a loud ‘Nooooo!’ as the reader decides that the stopping point for the day has been reached and the book will be continued the next day. Can’t wait to read it. We are recommending it to all our friends especially those who enjoy LOTR and Narnia.
I got your third book in the mail on Monday the 16th, I read it and was dimly upset that there were no foot notes, however I got over the disappointment when I realized the book was AWESOME! can’t wait for the conclusion!
