People ask me all the time: “Do you work out?”
Answer: Define “work out.”
They also ask: “Where’s the best place to buy The Wingfeather Saga?”
Answer: If you want the author to get the biggest cut, buy it from his website (this is true of musicians, too). But if you buy it new at Amazon or Barnes & Noble, that’s good, too. Buying it from another merchant means the sale is tracked, and if a ton of sales are tracked, other merchants notice, and newspapers report on it, and before you know it I’m writing my next book from a space yacht. If you don’t want me to get a cut of the money and you want to save a few bucks, by all means, buy it used somewhere. It’s not ideal, but if you’re reading the books I’m happy. I don’t write these things to make money. I write them to be read. I should point out, however, that unless you’re J.K. Rowling or Rick Riordan you aren’t in any danger of buying a space yacht. Paying the mortgage is a monthly cause for gratitude and wonder. That said, the best place to get it is through my webstore at the Rabbit Room, or at my concerts and book events. Sign up for my mailing list at the main website here, and we’ll let you know when I’m coming to town.
