Every year in the forum we hold a surprise party for our author. (He might be catching on.) 🙂 Celebrate him by writing him a note—something you appreciate about him, something his stories have taught you, something funny that you think he’d like, a haiku about storm clouds, a song you’ve written, or even just “Happy birthday!” If you want to send him some art, you can do so via the Art By You page, or you can link to it here if it’s already online. Then, when he comes, we POUNCE. 🙂

Happy Birthday Mr. Peterson! Thank you so much for your stories. Your books, your music, and now the short film. They’ve been one of the main things that have kept me going for the last year or two. I pray that God continues to use you in my life and in many others!
P. S. Madame Sidler, I agree, he may be catching on. Even such a sneakerific librarian as yourself can only be so sneaky compared to a Durgan…

I just want to say thank you for your books, music, and the Rabbit Room. They have helped me through difficult times, encouraged me to keep on going, inspired me greatly, and enthralled me for hours. Thank you so much for everything you do. You have truly shown me Christ.
Also, thanks for everything you did at the Midwest GHC this year! I don’t know if you remember me, but I was the girl who asked about Harry Potter and the fields of green and gold. Thanks for your answers.
The stories are true,

Happy birthday Andrew! So many of our lives have been changed because you were born. We bless the Lord for the life you have given back to God’s holy vocation in your life.

Happy Birthday Andrew! I just happened to be listening to Carried Along at the moment (just finished Resurrection Letters V1), after having woken with a hankering for some of your music, so I suppose it is appropriate! Anyway, I’m proud of you for all that you have accomplished through your music, books, and collaborative endeavors – such that even a platypus like me can fit in among the rabbits!
By the way, some of your song lyrics have become a part of the vocabulary my wife and I use to communicate, and I just ended up quoting you twice in a letter to my wife the other day (don’t worry, I said plenty of things in my own words!). Sometimes it’s helpful to have someone put into words what we all feel. 🙂

Happy birthday Andrew! You continue to amaze and inspire. I’m grateful for your artful and heartfelt work both in your artistry itself, and in the community you continue to cultivate. Many happy returns! Chris

Andrew, happiest of birthdays to you! I am so thankful to be one of so many lives impacted by yours. Thanks for being the kind, generous, creative person you are, for embracing the brave work of writing and singing and sharing your heart with the world. And thanks for the humility so evident in stuff like inventing an incredible conference for like-minded creatives (;P) to enjoy and then cleaning out the old, broken car of one of its attendees (me…). Your decision to miss out on Lost and write the Wingfeather saga has made my life immeasurably richer. I hope today that you get to dig in the dirt, enjoy quality time (and queso) with your family, and know deep in your bones that you belong and are loved. With gratitude, Amanda Brindley

AP, it’s such a blessing and delight to call you friend, and to wish you a very happy birthday! Praying for God’s continued blessing on your family as he tunes your heart to sing his praise.

Andrew Happy Birthday! I’m praying for you these words today.
“That according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”
I’m praising God for you stories both in books and song! I’m praising God for your heart that you so generously share. Blessings on your year!

Happy Birthday Andrew!
Your music and books mean a lot to me, as does the creative community I’ve discovered online through The Rabbit Room. Thank you for who you are and what you do.
I hope and pray we can meet in person one day and have a coffee together.

Our friend Andrew Nosretep-
Your stories have been a huge blessing, not only in my life but in the lives of others. You have opened a community where I was able to make friends I might never have. Here I have written a little poem for you:
Your writings are good tidings,
Enjoyable, and clear.
They hold bright light through darkness,
They tell of things most dear.
The beautiful world of Aerwiar,
With Maker like our own,
Is close to heart, yet very far,
creative, not a clone.
Have a most blessed birthday, and in the words of The Friendly Wordsmith “Through the darkness and the light, may your days be quite delight… ful”.
-Buddy Lieberman, a brother in writing, doodling, music and Christ-

A birthday? A birthday!! An auspicious day, indeed! I certainly won’t be the one to ask how old. On a serious note, though…
Thank you for teaching us not to be afraid of sorrow and suffering, but to embrace them and use them to shape our understanding of the fallen world, our faith, and our longing for the Savior who knows & heals our suffering.
Thank you for demonstrating the healing Love of Christ through your stories, your songs, and the world-wide community you’ve created & nurtured alongside your friends & family.
Thank you for encouraging us to embrace and make art that proclaims Love, shines the Light, and brings the beauty of the Great Story into the groaning, waiting world, no matter whether we’re old, young, housewife, professional, amateur, or dreamer.
Thank you for your humility & your vulnerability, teaching our sons that to be a man is not to be hard, arrogant, or wielding power like a club.
But most of all, thank you for telling us again and again–every time we read a story, a blog post, an interview; listen to a song or a podcast; or watch a livestream–that the stories are true. Christ has died. Christ has risen, and Christ will come again. You remind us of that.
Happy birthday, Andrew.

Happy birthday, Andrew! I don’t think that any artist has singlehandedly influenced my journey with Jesus the way you have- you are my Rich Mullins! Thank you for your honesty, humility, joy, and humor. I am so very thankful for your ministry. Happiest of birthdays to you!

Happy, Happy Birthday! Your music, books, and Hutchmoot have meant so much to me over the past several years. Here’s wishing you a blessed birthday and many, many more years of music, writing, proprietating, and just being you!

Dear Andrew, I’m so glad you exist. I’m glad you’re my boss. Thank you for speaking, and living out, the truth of the Gospel. Thank you for your generous, good-hearted kindness. I’m grateful for your music and stories, and I appreciate your heart. And beyond what you give to the world, I just plain like you.
Happy birthday. 🙂 I hope you know more today than you did yesterday how loved you are.

Happy, happy birthday, Andrew! I can’t tell you how influential you have been both in my life and the lives of those around me. May your celebration be memorable and beautiful, dear brother in Christ! ❤️

Happy birthday, Andrew! I hope you had a wonderful day. I am so very, very thankful for your life and for how God uses you to administer His grace to me (and so many). Thank you for always giving us your honest perspective on the world; thank you even more for soaking it in the light of the gospel!
Your songs have been so instrumental in helping me to rejoice in hard times. For fourteen years, I feel as though you’ve been a constant companion, pointing me to the Truth. I praise God for you!

Happy birthday Andrew! So thankful for your words in song and story and even radio broadcast interview over the years. My first encounter with you was through a snippet of a radio broadcast in which you described how you named your daughter and also talked about Rich Mullins. I didn’t catch your name but remembered the story, and years later when my aunt’s church bought the music for Behold the Lamb and performed it near Seattle, I found I had to figure out who wrote that song about Mary and what else they might have written. Eventually it dawned on me that I remembered you from that radio interview. 🙂 Odd, perhaps, but those who love Mullins and Lewis and MacDonald are kin, and so ever since then I’ve just been drawn in to the whole story and song community… I’m so thankful for all you have done in putting that together – for your faithfulness, courage, and persistence after the heart of the matter, and gifts for communicating it. Through your words God pulls back the mists of dullness and busyness and lets me see, in glimpses, the hidden beauty around me. I hope you have (had) a very happy birthday!!

Happy birthday AP!
Your books and music have been such a HUGE blessing and inspiration to me through the past year. I’m so very glad that you do what you do and I can’t wait to see what you make next. Interestingly, “You’ll Find Your Way” was played by one of our church’s worship leaders for a graduation ceremony I attended today. It was so fitting. May God bless you in the coming year of your life.
P.S. Please come back to the California Great Homeschool Convention next year!

I hope you have a wonderful day!!!
