Andrew had a really fun books-and-music interview last month with Steve Wiens, a pastor in Minneapolis. Pastor Steve invited two young friends to help him interview Andrew—Cai and Solvei—and they had great, great questions. Beware of spoilers! To listen to the whole interview (including Andrew's thoughts on more Wingfeather books!), click here.
Voom! A dinosaur review
Last week, Wingfeather received its first-ever review from a dinosaur.
There are few things I enjoy more than a rousing fantasy tale. Dragons, quests, and armies? Just hand me a tankard of your best ale for quaffing while I listen, fair friend. Be warned: I have been known to conduct improper and disorderly jesting when so roused by the high winds of fantasy. Huzzah! Yet fantasy is more than just interesting locales and pointy weapons. The best aspects of fantasy lie in its ability to call us deeply to the truest reality.
Tintejaeger the dinosaur goes on to talk about throne wardenship and some deep themes behind the cloven, which I really appreciated reading. If you don't mind spoilers, click here to read the rest. Thanks, Tintejaeger.
There's been some good discussion in the forum this week, especially about things in the fourth book. We'd love to hear your thoughts, about those topics or any others! And if you're a writer, be sure to stop by the Authors, assemble! thread and join in the conversation. Also, check this out: A fan-created trailer for the animated series. :-) So cool. Are you an animator? Make us a trailer! :-D
A review and an award ballot
Hannah Williams wrote a great Wingfeather review for Speculative Faith awhile back. Here's a snippet:
Andrew Peterson is perhaps first known as a songwriter and singer, and his talents there translate beautifully onto the pages of a novel. Everything he writes touches something inside us, whether it reawakens the wonder and excitement of childhood, or the deep void of loss, or the shuddering sense of revulsion.

Speaking of SpecFaith, the first-ever Silmarillion Awards are in their voting phase this week. Wingfeather has several finalists. :-) Click here to vote. (Careful, though—there are spoilers in at least one category.) Voting is open through Thursday.

Pennybridge
Remember, love. You are Cadwick, blacksmith of Pennybridge. You are in my heart, and my heart will wait for your return.
Next week, the Petersons' travels take them from Sweden to Norway, where they will need to be on the lookout for trolls. If they find any, you can be sure that Andrew will post photos on his Instagram account, where he's chronicling their trip. (His travelogue currently includes a giant key, an ancient rune stone, good friends, and some ruins—plus this portal into Anniera.)
Fantasy News: Best Friend, Most Nefarious Villain, Strangest Character—these are three of the ten categories in the brand-new Silmarillion Awards, hosted by Speculative Faith. So fun. Check them out!
"My Love Has Gone Across the Sea" by Trio Paradiso
Trio Paradiso Music, a flute/piano/violin ensemble from Roseville, California, recorded their own version of Andrew and Skye's song. Joining them is Jennifer Carlton on vocals. Andrew and his family are off on a huge adventure—a summer tour of Sweden, Norway, and the UK! He's promised to Instagram the whole trip, so be sure to follow him there. And if you're anywhere near one of the shows, he'd love to meet you. Check out their tour dates at his music site!
A Wingfeather alphabet book
Remember the fifth-grade class in Buenos Aires who sent Andrew the Handyball videos? They finished reading the first book and made their own glossary of many important names and terms. It's so fun. :-) My favorite page is U.(If you haven't finished reading the first book, you will find a few spoilers in here.)ABC's of On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness
Forum updates: The forum has a few new topics in it, and a brand-new subforum just for animated series chatter! No tea today—sorry; it's hot out and we've switched to chilled cider and berry bibes. :-)
