Creaturepedia

Thought to be the only surviving portrait of the famous explorer.

Thought to be the only surviving portrait of the famous explorer.

Bahbert Ollister Pembrick (Third Epoch, 145-231) was a treasure of Aerwair.  Though the ten volumes of his Creaturepedia are famous in every known continent, the man himself remains a mystery.  Some say he was as skinny as a broomstick; others say he was dashingly handsome and strong as a bullcow. This obscurity of personal details is due in part to the fact that he never married, was an orphan, and spent the majority of his life in the wild, often disguised as shrubbery or moss.

He roamed the land with a sketchbook and pen, forever searching behind every tree stump and under every stone, in every river and on every hill, to discover and document the endless living wonders of the Maker’s world.  Below is a sampling of the explorer’s sketches, all of which were drawn not from memory but in the company of the creatures themselves, usually from the cover of a hollow log, a hedge or pile of leaves.

Bomnubble

Snickbuzzard

Bumpy Digtoad

Toothy Cow

Horned Hound

Bomnubble (Symian)

A Fang of Dang

Quill Diggle
