Kalmar and a quote (spoiler)

Today's fan art is from Peter, who also sent along an excellent note. What I appreciate most about this drawing is the expression on Kalmar's face—sad, noble, uncertain—and the attention to detail in the claws and sword belt. Here's his letter:

We love your books! I am eleven and I have read all of them by myself. They are awesome!! When Kalmar was fanged this is what I think he looked liked, or at least I tried to draw the picture in my mind. As you can see I'm not a very good artist, however I love to draw and find it quite an enjoyable pastime. In the words of Barnabas Remsill an old Skreean philosopher: "Art is a window into the mind of the artist, and can be looked at in many a different way." I hope you like my drawing, and I love your twist to the story of how Janner sacrificed himself for all the Cloven, and his brother. The epilogue to book four was one of the best book endings I've ever read. Thank you for writing such a great book series.

For the Hills and the Hollows,Peter E. Rand

As a native of the Hollows, I also appreciate that salutation at the end. ;-) Thanks, Peter! Keep drawing!
