Kickstarter update #24: Shipping!

I never thought I'd reach the bottom!—Keith Yager

Kickstarter packages are already shipping! This weekend at the Rabbit Room there was a full-scale invasion (still ongoing, in fact) to sort, stack, stuff, and ship over two thousand packages full of stickers, tattoos, Wingfeather Tales, posters, T-shirts, patches, and more. Even as I type this the packing continues, and this morning we saw two full mail trucks drive away with your loot! If you follow Wingfeather on Facebook, you may have already seen a video of Saturday's insane packing party, and here it is again in case you missed it. It was SO FUN. :-)[embed]https://www.facebook.com/WingfeatherSaga/videos/1322845241080957/[/embed] And here are some close-ups. :-)img_7044Packages!Character cards!img_7065Your packages are going to start arriving any day now! This has been a loooong process (and there is still much work to be done—digital rewards are still coming, and of course there is the pilot itself!), but soon you will be able to hold in your hands so much of the stuff you helped to fund. Guys: This is amazing. I can't wait for you to see all these beautiful things we made you, which you helped us make. And we would love to see your excitement and the looks on your faces as you see these things for the first time! Would you take a photo or video of that moment and post it for us? Whether on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, just tag @wingfeathersaga. :-)And now: Back to packing!

Have you seen any hideous, delightful, or flappulous creatures in your area? There's a thread in the forum for reporting such sightings. :-)

Leeli coming to life

Nicholas Kole, Production Designer for the Wingfeather pilot, has been posting his character designs on Instagram over the weekend—including this charming video of Leeli and Nugget. Click the play button and watch as he sketches her frame, adds details, paints her in color, and brings life to her bright eyes.Just think—this is real. This is really happening. It is going to be wonderful. ❤️https://www.instagram.com/p/BMaV3YWjWBd/?taken-by=nicholaskole

Two-minute interview: Nicholas Kole

Featherheads, if you haven't yet caught up with Nicholas Kole it's about time you did. I can't wait until we can show you the character designs he's been doing for the animated series. They are luminous, full of personality and beauty. Backers have seen previews already, but backer or not you can get a sense of his art style by checking out his Tumblr. He's amazing. He and comic artist Jonny Jimison got a chance to hang out at Hutchmoot, and this video was one result. (Jonny is super fun, by the way, and he writes a great series called Martin & Marco, which is sort of a LOTR+Calvin & Hobbes-style adventure. You can read it online here and purchase print copies here.)In this video, Jonny asks Nicholas all kinds of questions while Nicholas draws a Monkey Queen. :-)https://youtu.be/GlsaQ_zCFtU

The Ballad of Lanric and Rube

I missed you dear readers last week! Last weekend was Hutchmoot, which is the most wonderful thing this side of the Dark Sea but it does have a tendency to wipe everyone out for a few days (or a week) afterwards. But we're back! The tirelessly fantastic Chris is wrangling everything from animation to t-shirt sizes to Wingfeather Tales proofreading. Andrew is glorying in fall colors and writing the foreword to said Tales. And I am here to post a little snippet of one of them for you. :-)Here, without further ado, is Jonathan Rogers reading the beginning of his magnificent The Ballad of Lanric and Rube![embed]https://youtu.be/7rdZA6be1d4[/embed]
