Join Andrew tonight at 7:00 pm Central for the first night of The Warden and the Wolf King readalongs! Remember, books 1-3 are coming down today (but you can preorder the Audibles!), and book four readings will only stay up for 24 hours apiece. You can find them on Facebook (here or here) or YouTube.
Readalongs start Saturday!
Andrew’s live readalong of book four starts this weekend on both Facebook and YouTube! And the readalongs for books 1-3 are coming down on the 26th, as well, as part of our arrangement with the publisher, so just be aware of that if you’re working on catching up. The reason for this is that the brand-new audiobooks, narrated by Andrew Himself, are coming out on January 5!! and the publisher would really like to promote those. We can hugely support Andrew and his publisher by preordering the audios. :-) You can do that right here.
So we’ll see you on Saturday, December 26, for the beginning of book four! And from all of us here at Team Wingfeather, merry, merry Christmas.
New trailer!
In celebration of the conclusion of the Saga being released, and in anticipation of the audiobooks releasing on January 5, the Wingfeather team has put together a gorgeous and stirring new trailer for the series. Check it out, copy the link, and share far and wide. :-)
Livestream, and another sale
Last night, Andrew and the band took the stage for a social-distanced, masked performance of Behold the Lamb of God, while many of you joined the audience in person or in your jammies. Christmas, like everything, is different this year. This is almost the only concert Andrew’s played this year, and seeing the whole band in masks (with one joining in from quarantine)… well. Many tears. Much gladness, but many tears. (Andrew started in the first chorus.)
If you missed it last night, never fear. You can still watch, all the way January 1. Click here for a ticket. (Check your spam folder if you don’t get the confirmation email right away). There is some merch available, too, although be aware that it may not arrive by Christmas. I hope the whole concert brings you hope.
Meanwhile, dear friends, we’re counting down the days till Christmas and Andrew’s next readalong. :-) (Eighteen and nineteen, respectively.) And if you need copies of the books, the flash sale is still going on in our store (click the tab above), AND Lifeway is running a HALF OFF sale! On ALL Wingfeather books, and Adorning the Dark! Go check that out real quick, while I sip on my bean brew and continue watching Behold the Lamb of God. :-)
Readalongs, flash sale, and BTLOG
Good Featherheads, I come with MOST EXCELLENT NEWS. Our long-awaited readalong for book four approacheth! Andrew is planning to recommence reading to us the very day after Christmas, December 26. (Perfect timing if any of you are hoping to receive the books for Christmas!)
And speaking of Christmas, two more announcements:
1) There is a flash sale going on right now on both The Warden and the Wolf King and the four-book bundle. Just visit the Store tab, where you’ll find lots of other goodies as well!
2) Andrew’s annual Christmas tour, Behold the Lamb of God, is not super tour-y this year, thanks to the pandemic, BUT there are limited in-person tickets for shows at the Ryman in Nashville, AND there’s a livestream happening as well! You can find more about that here.
How Andrew Peterson Writes
Andrew recently had the opportunity to talk with Brian Platzer of How Writers Write. They talk about the relationship between songwriting and novel-writing, writing soundtracks and rituals, faith and creativity, the goodness of collaboration, and more. Says Brian, “This conversation with Andrew stuck with me for a long time.”
Thanks, Brian. Readers, you can listen to the whole interview here.
Audiobooks cometh
Andrew spent all last week reading aloud, with accents and voices and drama and impeccable pronunciations, which I know all readers desire. ;-) There is nothing like hearing a book read by its own author, you know?
All four audiobooks are slated for release via Audible on January 5! (Hopefully nothing will occur to delay their release, but we will keep you updated in any case.) AND, they are already available for preorder on Amazon!!
Here are a couple photos Andrew kindly took in the studio for us. :-) What voice is he doing in photo 2, do you think?
Beautiful arts
Happy Monday, Featherheads! I have two beautiful things to share with you today! It thrills us right to our bones to see the art you readers make from Andrew’s world.
First, a cosplay. Eight-year-old Willa dressed as Leeli for her school’s Book Character Day. Doesn’t she look so much like Leeli? I had to do a double-take, truly.
And here is a scene you might remember from the end of The Monster in the Hollows—a scene with the Igiby three and a certain cloven. The creator’s name is Moriah, and she is twelve. Click the arrows to see closeups of each character. Isn’t the detail incredible? So well done, Moriah!
The Andrew update for this week is that he’s just wrapped up the online readalong of The Monster in the Hollows, and is taking this week to RECORD (!!) both books 1 and 2 for next year’s audiobook release. :-) After that he’ll have to take a bit of a break to let his voice recover before he can come read The Warden and the Wolf King aloud to us online, but he will just as soon as he’s able, and I’ll make sure to post an announcement at the site when the start date is set. You can also follow him on Facebook or Instagram for updates. :-) He is enjoying reading to you so much, and I love that it’s possible to connect with each other this way during a weirdypants year.
Until next time—
